Welcome to Sacred Heart Baseball and Softball Association’s 2013 season. This is our 56th year of providing recreational and tournament ball to children of the Rancocas Valley area, which includes the New Jersey communities of Hainesport, Mount Holly, Lumberton, Westampton and Eastampton.

MAKEUP SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED FOR MAY 11 GAMES ..... See below

Sunday May 19: Baseball Tournament Team Tryout for 7 year olds
This Sunday, 4 pm at CYO Field 2. Tryouts are open to players in our Instructional Division who were 7 years old as of the April 30, 2013 age cutoff date. (If you were not yet age 7 by April 30, we'll catch you at next year's tryout for the 7 yr old teams!)

Sacred Heart will be selecting two teams at this age - there will not be an "A" and "B" team, rather two equal teams. The focus will be on player development and teamwork through practice, with a few tournaments thrown in, too, just to see how things come together a bit over the course of the summer.

Players planning to try out should arrive around 3:30 pm to pre-register and be ready to play!

Rainouts from May 11 Rescheduled
The games from Saturday May 11 have been rescheduled over multiple days ... families should make their best effort to get to these games. With limited dates available, we're trying to get the games in rather than not playing them at all. Thanks for your cooperation! Click below:

Schedule of Makeup Games

Need a Practice Field?
Sacred Heart is able to schedule time slots for team practices at a limited number of fields in Lumberton and Westampton. Unfortunately, with so many teams in our league, we are unable to assign each team its own practice time on one of these fields.

Practice Field Schedule for Lumberton and Westampton

Coaches may also secure (on their own) field time for practices at other fields in the area that are not noted on the schedule.... for younger ages, an open field of grass works great and gives flexibility as to when you'd like to have practice.  Be creative!

Teaming Up With Dick's Sporting Goods
Sacred Heart is working with Dick's Sporting Goods in Burlington Twp. to bring you savings for the 2013 season. Check out the link below for more information, including coupons.

My Website User ID and Password don't work ...what to do now?
The only USER ID you'll need is the one for the LeagueOne Registration site.  The Sacred Heart website you're currently at does not need a user ID ... almost all information at our website does not require you to log in.  So if you've forgotten your user ID or password for this page, don't worry...you will still be able to see schedules and other information.  Your LeagueOne Registration will require a user ID, so we know where to email you during the season. If you have any questions about this, please email us at shcyobaseball@yahoo.com

Ban on Composite Bats: - Babe Ruth says "nevermind"
Little League implemented a ban on composite bats (12/30/10) for ages 12 and under effective with the 2011 baseball season, however, Babe Ruth / Ripken (our governing body) reversed its' own ban and will continue to allow composite barrel bats in 2012 that are stamped "Babe Ruth approved" and "BPF 1.15", with barrels of not more than 2-1/4" in diameter.   Don't be confused by discussion around BBCOR for ages 12 and under ....that level of bat certification is applicable only for divisions involving ages 13 and up.  Nonetheless, be careful about buying an expensive bat ($175 and up) that you might not be permitted to use for more than one season if the rules change again.

Eligibility: Who Can Play in the Sacred Heart Program?
The Sacred Heart CYO program is affiliated with the Babe Ruth / Ripken organization, which follows clear geographical boundaries that prohibit children from playing in a Babe Ruth / Ripken league outside their sanctioned area.

Baseball: Sacred Heart baseball can accept players that live in the Burlington county communities of Hainesport, Mt. Holly, Lumberton, Eastampton and Westampton. Essentially all other communities in our immediate surrounding area are included in the sending areas for other Babe Ruth / Ripken affiliated programs.

Softball: Sacred Heart softball can accept players that live in the communities of Hainesport, Mt. Holly, Lumberton, Eastampton and Westampton, and can also accept players that live in other nearby communities that do not have a Babe Ruth affiliated program. Please check with us regarding eligibility if you live in a nearby community other than the 5 communities in our core sending district. We welcome all eligible players!

Sacred Heart School students: Eligibility for playing in the Sacred Heart program is governed strictly by the regulations put into place by the Babe Ruth organization, which are based on residency. As such, while we enjoy and benefit from the relationship with Sacred Heart Parish, the league is not in a position to allow students to play in the Sacred Heart Baseball and Softball Association if they live in a community that is included in a competing Babe Ruth / Ripken program.

If you happen to move: Anyone that plays in the Sacred Heart program with a qualifying residence can continue playing at Sacred Heart after they move to another community that is part of another Babe Ruth affiliated program's sending area. Under those circumstances, proof of prior residency would need to be maintained. The player's eligibility at Sacred Heart would end once they sign up for another Babe Ruth affilitated program, or once they decide to not come back (even for one year).

Do these rules apply to all ages? Yes ... Sacred Heart is applying the residency rules for all ages in our programs, all the way down to t-ball.
